No tags for this post.I am always the first to defend the UK, when my fellow Americans scoff at the weather. Even the last night of the Olympics showed British people parading around with umbrellas. It was funny, but I always say it rains as much in London a year as it does in Manhattan. I say we have had some scorching summers in the past, so much so Easyjet would exclaim, “Welcome to tropical Luton!” I take it all back now, the past two summers here in the UK have been atrocious. There has only been 1 month in total over the past two summers of nice weather. Nice meaning over 70 degrees and mostly sunny.
Everyone is always speaking about the hurricanes and floods in the US, but this is the second summer where Northern England, the west country, basically anyone living around the British Isles have lost their homes. Thousands are sleeping [...]
Idag var vi på intervju för att få våra NI-numbers, i stort sett ett nr man behöver för att få jobba i landet och som ger en rätt till pension m.m. Eftersom vi inte räknade med att hitta rätt på en gång och var osäkra på hur tågen skulle gå så gav vi oss iväg i god tid. Vi kom fram 2 timmar för tidigt . För till skillnad mot Stockholm så går T-banorna här i city ungefär varannan minut, så fast vi gjorde två byten så väntade vi som mest i två minuter.
Men som tur var så hade de en lugn period precis när vi kom till JobCentret så vi fick komma in på en gång och få intervjun överstökad. Så nu behöver vi “bara” vänta i 2-4 veckor innan vi får våra NI-nummer, de är som sagt inte snabba i det här landet.
